Major missfiring, hesitation...HELP Posted by nick [Email] (#227) [Profile/Gallery] (more from nick) on Thu, 8 Feb 2001 20:50:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I store my 97 900turbo in the winter but seeing as its been dry and mild here in montreal, i decided to take her out for a little spin. The car was running perfectly, even started on the first try. But after about 30 minutes of warm up driving I went for a WOT highway sprint. Got up to about 190kmh and all of a sudden power just dropped. Felt like I was running out of gas, kind of a "chug-chug-chug" going on when I tried to accelerate. Idle became so bad it was shaking the rearview mirror. The only "new" thing on the car since I stored it is the reworked throttle casting, could this be it? In the end the check engine light came on and I limped home. The boost gauge was still showing proper boost though. It had almost no gas in it when I stored it but the first thing I did when I started the car was fill it with half a tank of 94 octane(best around here). The car is under warranty but I would like to find out a little more about this myself. Its another month and a half before I can get it to the dealer. All fluids, hose clamps are ok and new NGK's were installed about 30 days prior to storage....it worked perfectly last time I drove it.
TIA
Nick
