Chapter 1 - The Heathen gets trained

Well, my good chaps. Seems I was motoring home from the office the other night when I was forced to educate yet another heathen about the qualities of a Saab turbo. I had just pulled up at a light, waiting to enter a half mile long, two lane highway ramp. I have to admit, I was pleasantly thinking about the outing I had planned for myself and dearest Mar'gere for the weekend, and I failed to start immediately as the light colour changed to green. It wasn't long, mind you, perhaps long enough to say "as you wish, your highness", when the barbarian behind me began leaning on his horn button. I began to move forward, but such was the duration of his honking that I proceeded to move as slowly as possible.

Well, I dare say, this aggravated the begger to no extent. We were going no more than 20mph, when I noticed his coming around to my right as if to pass, driving some sort of VW GTI or some such nonsense. Apparently he thought his vehicle fast, as he was planning to pass me on the right, probably to make some sort of rude gutter gesture to me as he did. Well, with the Queen's and Saab's honor at stake, I tromped on the accelerator and pushed the throttle to the stops. Of course, my SET responded admirably, and I nearly flew up the ramp. I had little time for the speedometer, but I shifted to third as it closed on the redline and advanced along the rampway at a high rate.

Well, my friends, we can all imagine the startled look that must have crossed this young upstart's face as he watched my Saab streaking away ahead of him. He made an effort to keep up, but at last was forced to throttle down and accept the thorough thrashing I had given him.
Score: one for Queen and Saab, zero for the Heathens.

Good day and pleasant motoring,

Reginald
