That's what they say. 89 gives better mileage. This is, indeed, true in the case of our Saturn L.
Dean had an interesting point. I JUST put some Techron concentrate in the car a few weeks ago for the first time. 40K miles. I think the car REALLY needed it. It runs much better now.
Also, I changed from NGK BCPR7ES11 to NGK BCPR6ES11 as the plugs were black and fouled. The car doesn't get driven too hard and it's cold up here in NH. Perhaps I should do WOT more often? I like the car too much to flogg the throttle like that. This begs the question; how bad is it to drive the engine hard?
