If you look only at vehicles that have problems, you will see only problems.
My 95SET has just about 120000 miles at this point. I had a rear seal leaking, and the trany needed to be pulled. So the clutch was replaced as the whole thing was exposed anyways. A minor problem, but expensive nevertheless. The old clutch and throw out bearing were is good shape, and the cable was working fine. But is was probably good to have a new cable in any case.
My steering started to get vague after 100000 miles. I put on the Viggen rescue kit. Expensive again. But the steering is much improved. The oil filled bushings were probably just getting mushy. The ball joints and tie rods were ok and were not replaced.
I replaced two idler pulleys as preventative maintenance, kept the belt, the second one on the vehicle. Replaced the fuel filter and O2 sensor as prevenative maintence at 108000 miles. I was able to save lots of money by getting an inexpensive O2 sensor and splicing it in. The alternative would be the dealer installing a very expensive one some day. Every indication is that the old sensor was working perfectly. The business end of the inexpensive sensor is identical to the OEM unit.
So I feel that the above items were not a big deal. It would have been great to not have such problems. I do not have any other problems or complaints.
95SET 119000 miles, modified.
