Thanks of the oil ring thought. Past Internal Combustion Engine experience and having built engines leads me to believe that the oil rings are OK since there is no blow-by and hence no blue smoke or wet exhaust pipe. Plugs are new and fine. What I'm wondering is if there is some emission stuff that may not be 'off' enough for the OBDII to detect but causes a little burning of oil due to an internal pressurization that should not happen. I've looked and tried most of the obvious solutions but the correct solution still escapes me. The synthetic oil has been in for a little over 11,000 kilometers and was put in to help 'loosen' any potential gunked up internals. My driving is mostly highway (100-120kph) with very little sop and go. Guess a compression and leak-down test is called for! Weird!
