Autoscandia has always serviced my 9-3 since my move to this area. Recently I asked if they could install xenon headlamps for me. One of the managers, Wayne, told me that the factory lights would cost a small fortune. He then suggested that I install a conversion kit that would use my stock headlamp lenses but would not automatically aim like the factory xenons. The price was a fraction of the factory installation but I am worried about the non aiming aspect. Has anyone had experience with this type of system. I do none of my own work, so I really depend on the shops advice. Can anyone who has this system tell me if they are happy with the results. Wayne said that the lights have an abrupt cutoff and that they may seem to leave a dark area below the line of vision when cresting hills or turning sharply. If anyone has this type of system installed I would appreciate your feedback. Also, the replacement bulbs are about 4 times the cost of the original halogens. Are they worth it?
