Blustery afternoon in So Cal so my wife wanted to see a movie and she let me choose. Spectre, the new James Bond film I said and she's always enjoyed Bond films and it was playing at the Village theater in Coronado which is a restored classic movie house in the old style and our favorite movie theater. And you gotta' see an action film like Bond on the big screen.
Great action scenes and stunts, the opening has a breathtaking helicopter sequence over the Zocalo in Mexico City, and the stunts and action sequences just keep coming. But for me the plot was a little weak and left me wondering why Bond and company were walking into traps, but that's what James Bond does I guess.
The Bond girl herself was a letdown too, beautiful yes, but in an ordinary way, not a typical super model looking type as most Bond girls have been. Terry Hatcher, Ursula Andress and Halle Berry come to mind.
A new "M", "Q" and Moneypenny didn't help much either. Overall good with action second to none, a worthy sequel, but not quite top notch.
