Please, need help with primer/ painting. Headache Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Thu, 8 Jul 2010 21:40:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It is a 2000 9-3, and it started to rust near the rear wheel well. It is a common place. Also, in a couple other places. I started to grind all of the rust, and there was so much until I realized it was infeasible for me to do it. I took it to a local independent body shop, and asked them to prep it for paint for me, and I'd do the rest.
I thought they would simply fix the area. They did, except they went past it by quite a bit. I wish I hadn't told them about the dime size rust. It's not cleaned up, with primer and is about a circle of FOUR inches in diameter (!!!) which I now need to paint. There is also small dots of primer EVERYWHERE near it.
How do I do this? How do I remove the small dots of primer? (2000 grit sandpaper, and then polishing compound?)
I will be posting a picture of this tomorrow. It will clarify everything.
PLEASE HELP me! If you can direct me to some tutorial, or from your own personal experience.
Thank you all, Bender
