I've got a set of 1998 9000 CSE exposed lugnut rims...I am fully refinishing them...almost ready for the clear coats...!!!! Now I am looking at the center caps and I see that they are kinda ugly. I am not buying new ones, nor am I too worried about the inside-paint which is OK except the silver ring around the outside which is chipped looking.. I want to refinish the surface only. I am thinking of wetsanding with 400, then 800, then 1000 grit, then going with plastic polish. Is this a good strategy? I have never worked with plastic refinishing. posted by 18.60.1...
