The SLK320 did not have a compressor, being a V6 with 12 spark plugs. The SLK32AMG did have a belt-driven roots type compressor bolted onto the V6 engine, as did the SLK230 on an I4. The compressor functioned like a low-inertia turbo (but of course was belt-driven), giving the boost from the get-go, but doesn't build up to high PSI boost like the high output turbos. SLK32AMG was a very slick car. SLK230Kompressor chugged quite a lot, especially when the engine is cold.
