I always had relatively high regard for them, sold new ones and bought everyone I could get my hands on when I was a dealer. Try Outback.org to see--I wasn't alone. If you really want to see a tale of woes get on the Turbo Outback forum. Mine was an '05 that I bought 3 years ago so yes, it was pretty new. It was very disappointing--there was a lot I liked about the car.
