I used to drive a fork lift that was battery powered.We had two batteries, one on the charger and one on board. We used to run it for 1 1/2 to two shifts on one battery--I mean it was running hard the entire shift. At the end of the second shift we'd hook it up to the charger over night and it would be usually be ready the next morning to go again. Once or twice a week we'd have to physically change the battery to the charged one depending on how charge/run cycle fell. This was 40 years ago in the early 70's, I'm willing to bet they've learned a thing or two since. Like it or not gasoline engines are the past and as other technologies get better and better the day will come sooner than you might think when no one will want them.
