Chad is in the situation in which he cannot obtain always parts wholesale and must sometimes pay list price himself, when obtaining parts for customers. As has been discussed at length on this site in the past, it is entirely reasonable for a shopkeeper to charge a mark-up, which means that we, as customers, can no longer always expect to pay MSRP when going through a shop for a Saab part. That's life.

When I recently had my ABS pump burn out on my '91 9kt, it was being serviced at the Saab dealership. They told me the part was no longer available from Saab, but they found a used one for $600. I told them I'd look for myself, and I found one considerably chaper. They were gracious enough to install it. If I had accepted their part at their price, however, then had gone out and found a lower price, it would have been absolutely wrong for me to demand a refund. I would have agreed to the price, I would have paid, and that would have been that. When you agree on a price, you give your word that you will uphold your end of the deal.

Chad is by no means required to price anything in line with any other supplier, although I'm not sure his pricing was out of line to begin with. If the part was so easily available, as you maintain, then he was not price gouging. You could perhaps go shopping and find it for a lower price, which you did, but AFTER you paid him. You have what's called buyer's regret. He is well within his rights, IMHO, to say that all sales are final. To tell you the truth, most places won't allow returns on electrical parts, so his response is industry standard.
