O.T. Wet dryer vent

Over the summer we became aware the dryer vent was dripping water. About the same time the wife started commenting about the drying time was longer. The vent is about 24' of 4" schedule 40 PVC through the basement. If it hadn't had a poor joint we would never have noticed the water. I drilled a hole in the pipe and it drips about a cup of water every day or two. I can imagine there is a layer of wet lint mud in the duct. Now the issue is how do you clean out this wet mess, the pipe is glued together. Trying to get a brush through it may just make a pile of lint mud. Another thought is run the dryer on timed dry with no clothes in an effort to dry out the pipe and mud. Dried on lint maybe hard to remove. The other option is to remove the pipe and clean or replace it. Then the question is how do you reinstall it to minimize the moisture and make cleaning easier. Any and all comments appreciated.
