I have a rack full of CD's in the spare bedroom that I converted over to MP3 a couple years ago and store on my NAS. Figured this way I could put what I wanted on the MP3 player for airline travel and trips to the health club. Had XM for about 13 years in my 9-3 but finally pulled the plug on that in 2015, installed a SaabAux and plugged in my MP3 player. Since I like listening to an album all the way thru I merged the individual tacks back into a single file (full album) so I get random albums on the MP3. Decided a couple months back that I was done buying CD's and now in full download mode.
The CD player on "our" backup car, '99 Camry, died on my drive to work one day and had to listen to terrestrial radio for the first time since 2002. Ugh! Pulled the trigger on a replacement stereo a couple days later and ended up getting a CD-less system. Plugged in a 64GB drive with full album rips and am completely pleased with this setup. Keep thinking the 2010 9-3 would benefit from this upgrade.
Wonder how long it's going to be until the wife demands I get rid of that rack of CD's. At least I don't get the "Another CD?" comments anymore when she opens the mail.
