If only I had additional garage space in which to perform the work. A couple years back we had dope head neighbors who I was certain would set their home ablaze by either falling asleep with a lit cigarette of some sort, or by trying to cook Meth in their home.
My plan if that happened was to buy the damaged home to demo it, then construct a Garage Home on the lot. This type of home has 3 or 4 bays of garage space on the first floor and a one or two BR apartment on the second floor. This could be used for added space when the kids return home at Holiday time.
Luckily this didn't occur. I would now have 3 or 4 relatives fighting each other to live in the apartment full time for free if I had constructed it. One has already asked me to convert my 10x12 backyard storage shed into a Tiny House for them! Sorry, can't legally be done.
