That was my #1 suspect, except that the whistle survive a turbo & manifold swap. I was so disappointed - I put on a ported & ceramic coated manifold with a ball-bearing T3/T4 turbo attached and was sure it was going to cure the noise and it made exactly zero difference. I even replaced the elbow that connects the turbo to the downpipe for good measure with no change in behavior. It is very possible the sound is from the throttle body's butterfly, but I can't fix that one. :(
I'm really not confident or even hopeful that this goop will fix the noise, but it won't make it worse. :)
And, honestly, I'm not upset at the whistle anyway - it lets people know I'm coming. :)
