From what I know of POR-15 it's for already rusted or bare metal? The oily rust preventative I might use on like suspension components or the engine compartment in the winter. and mayhaps have the car undercoated (Ziebart does that too )? As far as the rest of the car, I would definitely use ziebarting. My families experience, w/ ziebarting: I grew up in Michigan w/. all the cars being ziebarted so ours NEVER rusted whilst everyone else's DID ! my dad was having this done starting in the early 1960's up. Mostly Volkswagens(some U.S. cars too ) It was, as I recall a very neat, not oily or runny, a green/blue viscous liquid that would be sprayed & flow into thin seams & solidify. they drilled small holes to access the interior spaces. YES the"inaccessible" ones too (these did not show unless you opened the door and they plugged the holes w little plastic plugs which people recognized "Oh you had your car ziebarted. " It was not messy, it did not attract dirt and we took it in every year for inspection. They had a warranty too . they're still in business google them for the nearest dealer ( it's a franchise thing )I would imagine that as cars have gotten better w/ rustproofing their business has expanded to many other car care services .(but obviously cars STILL rust! A LOT/ MOST all of the 2001+ 9-5's and 1999+ 9-3's I've looked at are RUSTED ! so no sale! What a WASTE of Saabs! My father said it was worth the cost as it increased the resale value w/ NO rust.( No kidding!) See I thought EVERYBODY did it! (and still did) If I lived in the rust belt I'd have it done w/ out hesitation.Do you care about your car? spend the $. Ziebart, They have been in business since 1959 regards,
