A lot of these people definitely have mental problems--they love the cars to death so to speak. They'd rather let them rot (or get scraped) than let someone else have them. I think you'd find that a lot of these cars just aren't worth what it would take to restore them. While the Volvo Wagon looks rust free, being in Michigan I'll bet you'd find the underside is so rusted it would be nearly impossible (and crazy expensive) to make it drive-able. It's sad, but that's what happens when you let cars sit outside for any length of time. Actually I'm trying to buy an '88 or '89 BMW M5 that I ran across the other day.
