I've been pretty interested in these tests for some reasons, though I haven't taken one since my own ethnic heritage is pretty clear cut (I think anyway!). It turns out having different profiles than your siblings isn't uncommon, as we each inherit different DNA from our parents. For example if you have one Swedish parent and on English parent, you could inherit primarily English DNA while a sibling could get primarily Swedish DNA. So it has been explained to me anyway, and I think it make sense given how vastly different siblings can sometimes look, especially when their parents are from different origins, and I guess these differences can continue on over generations. The Swedish DNA is strong with Brian. It does lead to some disappointments though when people find out their DNA doesn't match their cultural affiliation, like an Italian-American finding out they have very little Italian in them despite having a mostly Italian family. It's all interesting stuff, but while our DNA is literally who we are I think it also isn't what defines us as people and our cultural connections are much stronger.
