Roger, I assume you have a DoE clearance and, if you haven’t done so already, you should file for the results of your investigation package under the FOIA. I did that every time my DoD clearance investigation was completed. You may be surprised at the info contained therein. Errors, mistaken identities, phantom spouses, etc. Those can be corrected but only if you tell the Feds to correct it.
Your Security rep should know what agency to contact to get it. My last one was via the OPM (Office of Personnel Mgmt). Not long after I received my last package, the OPM was kind enough to tell me that my files had been hacked and all that info I provided over decades now resided with a foreign adversary but not to worry, etc. Nice to know...
