Re: OEM & aftermarket eEuroparts - a solution - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
The front bushing caps are a known weak point on 9000s; they're made of cast aluminum alloy and will crack on the interior surface where it's hard to see. Abbott Racing in the UK used to make a better version of these (forged steel?) but no longer does. Nick at Genuine SAAB knows about the issue but doesn't have any alternatives - I asked him previously.
I suppose someone could CNC a part out of better material, but there isn't much demand: there are dwindling numbers of 9000s and the newest one is already 20 years old!
