You made an interesting comment about the fact that, pertentagewise there are more Saab enthusiasts in Europe than the USA. I myself started with Saab more than 30 years ago but, due to dealer indiference/incompetance left and went to BMW/Toyota/various domestic. I really loved my red 850 Monte Carlo. It seemed as though anyone with a garage and a set of wrenches could become a Saab dealer then and, they were always changing. You never knew who would be your Saab dealer this year. Stability and quality in a dealer network has (in my opinion) been a very weak point with Saab USA. I held off as long as I could and came back this year but, I must say that so far, I have not been overly impressed with my local dealer. Only one in the Houston metropolitan area.I feel that if the dealership network was stronger and more stable and gave the customer better support, you would see more Saabs on the road here. Perhaps now that GM has gained full control we will see greater stability and support? One can only hope. Of course, I really wouldn't want to see them multiply like the Taurus.
