Any synthetic is a good choice over the dino juice. You should be
able to get more than 5k out of an interval. A lot of guys on this
BB go 7.5k, and that's being conservative. You might want to try
Royal Purple, which can be delivered to you in a 5 gal. container
for a cost that will be less per/quart than Mobil 1. I don't have
the address here at work, but I'm sure someone on this BB does and
can help you out. I haven't read of any account of synthetic doing
harm to seals on a new/barely used engine, so I doubt if you would
have to worry about the seals on yours. All things considered, the
longer drain intervals, higher flash points, better flow at low temp's,
shift the balance in favor of synthetics in my book. Probably the
most damaging thing you can do to an engine is to start it on a cold
(below zero) morning. Synthetics attenuate this significantly.
