I personally think that the production version is very tacky. Too much chrome and too many intersecting lines. What happened to classic simplicity, Audi? Guess that's why I bought a 9-3.
For those who remember, last spring I had the chance to photograph what at the time I thought was an A4 prototype. I was driving through western New Mexico when this camo'd sedan comes barrelling past. Car enthusiast that I am, I instantly recognized it as some sort of a test mule. Of course I followed it and snapped as many pictures as I could.
Well here we are 8 months later and I can confirm that what I saw was indeed an A4 prototype. If you look at the pic I've posted (be patient, my friends... it will load someday), you can see that the tailights, fender flares and central rubbing strip on the side of the car remained very similar. I'm surprised to see that big strip of clear on the tailights of the production model. Seems kind of Japanese-car to me.
