I am constantly amazed at the ignorant remarks posted on this website
concerning "other" fine automobiles. While I am a former Saab owner & big
fan of the 9-5, I am also objective & a big follower of the automobile
industry. The Acura TL has been a phenominal success because it is one of
the finest cars for the price you can buy. The Accord/tincan scenario just
won't fly anymore guys. You really are sounding loke a broken record. The
TL is a solid, 3400 lb. performance sedan that amazed autowriters around
the globe with it's introduction 3 yrs. ago!
It's 225 hp V-Tec V-6 engine is smooth as butter & a typical world class
powertrain from Honda. Honda is after all, an engine company. It has fit &
finish that rival any car, great ride & handling & the best navigation
system you can buy for $30K. No, it is not an Aero & was not intended to
compete with a $42,000 car. Reliability will be typical near perfection!
Crash ratings are good, but not as good as the Saab, that's true!
The gentleman who cited crash stats surely understands how many more TL's
are on the road than the newer & lower volume 9-5. In the end, you should
buy the car you fall in love with. However, there is a reason the TL still
commands sticker price at most dealers 3 yrs. after it's introduction!!
Oh, one final thought. Resale! You don't even want to know the difference
in that catagory if you buy the Saab. Take it from someone who got murdered
at trading time. Soured me on Saab forever!
