am I the only one pi$$ed about the SUV?

What makes GM think SAAB having an SUV in their lineup will be a good thing? Sales are down in the SUV market, people are growing to dislike the gas-guzzling behemoths, and everyone has realized how pointless these vehicles are. SAAB has traditionally never had anything overly trendy in their model line, and that is what makes them so quirky and loveable. Besides that, the SUV is pointless since i can already outrun a snowmobile in my SAAB (yes, i have tested this theory and proven it.) If they want to do somethign 4 wheel drive, stop jumping on the damn American bandwagon and instead develop a 4 wheel drive 9-5 wagon or production viggen to compete with the Porsche 911 C4. It is possible, and it is what enthusiasts want. The SAAB directors right now are in for a big surprise in the dropping of sales if they allow the SUV to be born. Why are there a bunch of old guys with no sense of tradition or sales management trying to ruin the brand we love? A car that would sell is a sports car... say a Sonnet 4??? The Baby Boomer Generation is growing older and they have money to spend on nice cars, but they don't have to haul around kids so they turn to sports cars, and convertibles. The convertibles are already selling like hotcakes, so why not take it as a hint... GM is Bastardizing the brand American style. Let's hope we aren't faced with the American automotive pigs of the 70's and 80's when they're through.
