why is it such a big deal that SAAB is building an SUV? If you don't want the SAAB SUV, then don't buy it. Let SAAB newcomer's buy it so they can get hooked on SAAB features such as performance with fuel economy and the incredible utility. The reason for building this SUV is to expand SAABs market. They are never going to become a major division with two static models. Let them increase the models to an SUV, a 9-3 hatchback, a 9-3 Sedan, a 9-5 Sedan, and a 9-5 Wagon. You pick which SAAB you like and buy it....don't worry about the rest. If you look at the market today, the truck based SUV's are declining in sales, but the car based small/mid-size SUV's are gaining ground. These vehicles provide a lot of utility and some sport WITHOUT a truck ride. Given that, I would think SAAB would use their talent to put in more utility, a lot more sport, better fuel economy, and still not have a truck ride. SAAB already produces an SUV (IE the 9-3 hatchback and 9-5 Wagon), problem is the rest of the market doesn't know it. I know SAAB classic loyalist's don't want SAAB to follow trends, but one important trend right now is to have rising sales. Don't you think SAAB should at least follow that one trend?
