Dean, Turbo Silencer...again

In your instructions to remove the turbo silencer you stated "This silencer is inserted into the 2" aluminum tube that is between the turbo compressor discharge and the intercooler". When I was working on my car this weekend this was a planned activity, but I don't have an aluminum tube between the turbo compressor and the intercooler. In fact there isn't any aluminum tubing in the intake path until after the intercooler. Could it be possible that I don't have a silencer?
BTW, I did do the work on the intake transition casting. Mine wasn't as bad as what I saw in the before pictures, but it still needed to be done. It made the engine smoother and it felt as if it breathed better at higher RPMs. Of course that could be my severe optimism. There used to be a step in power in first and second gear at partial throttle when the car transitioned from vacuum to boost, but that has been smoothed out now. I also tightened the wastgate actuator by one turn to increase base boost, but I didn't notice any difference. Maybe I should do it one more turn?
Thanks,
Richard P.
