Your $10,000 upper limit, automatic and no naturally aspirated four cylinder requirements put you in a bit of a tight spot.
From my perspective you pretty much need to rule out the pre-1994 if you won't go with the manual transmission. I love the early 900 series but not with an automatic.
As suggested by others try to avoid the 1994 900. At a miniumn make sure that all the recalls were performed and the suspension kit (which was not a recall item) was installed to correct the bump steer problem (or that it was build after SAAB made changes to correct it). Ideally, you would avoid the 1995 900 too; there were lots of issues with early production on these cars. However, I don't think you can find a decent 1996 or newer under $10,000. If you insist on the turbo the 1995 probably would break the bank too.
A 1993 (newer if you can afford it) 9000CS Turbo might most closely meet your requirements. However, keep in mind it wasn't necessary a cheap car to own when new. At 8 years old, depending on your luck it could get pricy fast.
Good luck
