if so, as far as books go, you're looking well over 12 different books. if you want them all, get hired by Pep Boys and steal a book a day, get your employee discount on a couple things and then quit! :)
if you want the software system they are running, it's proprietary and highly unlikely you'll find something for free (or reasonably cheap). However, you may be interested in contacting a large wholesale Aftermarket Auto Parts vendor. someone like MAWDI (middle atlantic warehouse distributors inc.) or someplace similar. they should be able to steer you i the right direction.
i've worked at a couple auto parts stores that ran the J-CON software, which can be run on a Windows operating system (i believe a DOS version is also available). the problem with getting your hands on this software is that it becomes outdated and you'll need to upgrade to reflect new part numbers, vehicle makes, discontinuations, replacments, etc... the other problem is that most of the packages are cataloged to only contain certain vendors. so, you might only get DAYCO part numbers, when you might be looking for GATES numbers.
then again, some of the packages have cross-reference guides that you can use... the more i think about it, the more feasible it sounds to have this type of software. where these packages fail is OEM number reference, especially when it comes to imports.
how about sending email to Townsend Imports and find out what they use, could be a good start...
good luck and let us know how you make out!
