the 2.5 I6 is incredibly smooth. That being said, I cannot tell you how impressed I was by my 9-3 base 2.0 turbo engine. I cannot believe how much power comes out of a 4 cylinder engine. I think saab is actually the most underated car mfgr. The general public dismisses saabs as "quirky" unreliable and odd looking cars. With the deep discounts being offered, what other car gives you more for your money ? maybe Maxima ? I'm not sure?
When you buy a bmw it is not an economical or value choice, its a passion for the car.(yes, some buy it becasue they want to say they drive a bmw) I enjoy RWD, i don't care if i cannot get around in severe snow storms. There has not been significant snow in my area in over 4 years!! and when it happens I'll stay home until the roads are plowed. I gave saab a try, it was better than i expected. I would recommend saabs. I did not like the narrow cabin feel(the bmw is not as narrow, it also has larger foot wells)
the hatchback look started to wear thin on me, and I hated that my brand new car had the same style as cars 8 years old. Yes, I should have thought of that first.
