I have a similar whistle around the top of the right front door; it usually becomes audible from the driver's seat at around 60-70 mph and becomes louder at higher speed.
I have had the dealer look at it on two occasions. The first time the tech couldn't hear the noise. The second time I took him for a ride and he did hear it (not very loudly, though, unfortunately there is no good location near Carter VW-Saab in Seattle to drive 70+ mph). The tech knew of a couple of past issues resulting from missplaced or missing foam insulation blocks; this was not the problem for my car. He "tightened up" the door and pronounced the problem fixed but the symptoms are unchanged.
It does not appear to be the windshield leak which several people here have described, pressure on various points of the windshield does not change the whistle.
My current theory (which I have not tested yet) is that it is related to the rubber seal which runs the length of the roof behind the doors. The seal pulls away to install the roof rack. At the back of the car (visible when the trunk is opened) is a plastic plug with a couple of small holes through it. If these holes are plugged there could be pressure building up under the seal at high speed and causing it to lift away from the car and vibrate.
