Best option for a 2-year lease? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 28 Feb 2016 05:58:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Youngest son has a 2002 GrandAm with nearly 200K miles. Car has a leaky steering rack, weak A/C system, and now has a noisy PS pump.
He is finishing his second year of Med School and I don't think this car will make it to the end. He only likes 2-door coupes (try finding one of those this day) but his mother and I am encouraging him to get someting new on a 2-year lease just to get him to Residency when he will start to be paid.
He is still partial to GM products - I think everyone here knows my feelings on that - but the Verano is a great car all the same and the Cruze isn't bad either.
If you were in a similar position, trying to encourage a family member to get someting new and inexpensive to avoid break-downs and expensive failures until they wil have the cash to get someting they really want, what vehicles would you direct them to?
BTW - he bought the GrandAm new with his own money which is part of his problem with severing the ties. No spouse (yet), no kids, just a 30 pound Shiba to ride shotgun on ocassion.
