They are both smallish CUV's, but encore is taller with a shorter wheelbase. That is the opposite of what DE is looking for, and my point re wagons vs CUVs... CUV's tend to be taller (even in the metal) in proportion to length and/or wheelbase than wagons which tend to be longer and lower. To me, vehicles like Outback, XC70, 9-3X, and A4 Allroad are more or less raised wagons. Encore, CX3, Q3 and the next size up (Forester, X3, Q5, CRV, etc) are proportioned as scaled down SUV's... X1 really blurs the boundaries, (and depending on how you look at it,) more or less so 2015- as they increased the height a touch and reduced the length slightly also to increase the relationship to the X3. Still, it has much in common with a raised wagon.
