IMHO there are a lot of wiser uses of money than a JH5. The Lotus motor is a treat but not cheap to work on. These cars have a number of foibles that are a pain, and being an unloved and forgotten piece of automotive history they can be difficult and expensive to fix. In perfect running condition, they aren't even that great to drive.
I say this after looking *really hard* at several of them many years ago and nearly buying one. In the end, the money spent on a JH5 would go a lot further with an MG or 240Z or something.
If you love what the Jensen-Healey is or represents sure, go for it, but it's about as far removed from an "good use of automotive money" as you can imagine. All IMHO, of course.
