I'm going to go out on a limb and say visibility is something you can adapt to. One of our cars has terrible visibility with the top up. It was very annoying at first, but now I'm used to it, but still very slow and cautious changing lanes. That being said, in all likelihood it's a slightly more dangerous car to drive because of it, but safety is made up of so many factors it's hard to judge.
I guess my point is it's POSSIBLE to get used to limited visibility. I don't know if it's possible to get used to a constrictive footwell.
