They tested an I8 on top gear and apparently had unlimited range with the gas engine range extender. I know the I3 has a small gas engine with a small tank. My understanding is that as long as the engine is running it would generate enough power to operate the car. So if you continued to put gas in you could run it cross country. They show the range as 130 miles with range extender. Does that mean it will go that far before it needs gas or does it mean at that point it will be too far behind the curve charge-wise to continue?
