VW Vanagon Westfalia Brakes and bleeding Posted by CBS [Email] (#969) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CBS) on Fri, 30 Jun 2017 14:52:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just read a post in the c900 section that said DO NOT use a Mighty Vac to suck brake fluid out the nipples. This causes air to mix with the fluid in the master. Well the Van has never had good brakes and two different indies said the pads were fine and this is just the way these vans are. I call BS. I bled them after replacing the master cylinder using the MightyVac suction at the bleed nipples last year and they never improved. I can hit the brakes as hard as possible and I will get a slow slow-down with no option of "locking them up". Could this be my problem? Should I rebleed them by pressurizing the master? Are there soft hydraulic hose sections that could be ballooning? All opinions welcome.
