We pretty much exclusively use Hertz anymore due to my wife's work rates and Gold Club status. I've been pretty pleased with the selection. They mainly use Ford products but we've also had a few Toyotas (that was nice because we were going to buy a RAV4 until we rented one and drove to for a few days - horrible, horrible car). The Ford connection is nice because if you want to upgrade you can find cars like Volvos and Jags.

As Noel noted, you're better off finding one vendor, joining their club, and sticking with them. And never be afraid to ask if they have something else - I always try to rent something different every time just to see what's out there.
