Sounds like a keeper. It probably wouldn't be a first choice as a winter car but I used to drive a TR4 in the winter and lived to tell the tale. I did have a '95 318 IS and it was a real hoot to drive in snow (pre-traction control). If you get 4 snows you should be fine--go for it.
