Identical for the 9K, different for 9.5 Posted by Karl [Email] (#161) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Karl) on Mon, 13 Nov 2000 13:38:11 In Reply to: "Aero-spec", at least for the 9K, I thought all the, jj, Mon, 13 Nov 2000 09:43:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
JJ,
You're absolutely right as far as the 9K goes. All internal parts are identical between the various 2,3t and 2,3T models. Only differences as far as I know are turbocharger, injectors and software. Nice margins on the Aero...
But for the 9-5 there are big differences internally between 2,3t and 2,3T models. First of all the Ecopower engines are "weaker" by nature in terms of smaller tolerances, weaker pistons, rods, cranks etc. The Aero engine is quite strong, but the earlier 2,3t are not... For 2001 the 2,3t engines get the same internals as the Aero though...
But I believe that all people with in-depth knowledge agree that the 9K is a more suitable engine for really high outputs (300 hp+), less the gearbox of course...
Can't wait to get my new software...
Later,
Karl
