I have had 6 OG900 cars. I got them from my mother, who is big Saab freak. I therefore know them fairly well. The NG900 and 9-3's are uncharted terratory for me. I like them, but not for the sticker price.
The price I have found is really a special combination: they can't sell a low end (base) manual, and I like base manual cars. If it were tarted up (leather, heated seats, se body kit), it would sell. But not the base. This particular car has been at the dealer for ten months. I've driven it 4 times. Every time I go to get parts from the dealer, there it is. I looked at it every time, always thinking that it would be sold come next visit. Never happened.

Finaly, now that the New Year is fast approaching, the salesman, who is a friend of a friend, came to the realization that I am the only person within 1000 miles who would actualy buy this car.

In any case, I would modefy the car slowley. New APC (ECU), RRFPR, injectors, etc until I got it right. Suspension would be last, but I like the old Viking Shield wheels. I do not want to buy anything extra from the dealer. Part of my gimmick with the dealer is that I do not have much cash and am not willing to finance a huge amount. Therefore, If I start sniffing around about 17 inch wheels, my bargaining position will be compromised. By the way, I hate the 9-3 base wheels. Kind of chromed wagon wheel style, like on my ancient 1975 CJ5.
