Synthetic oil changes get quite expensive at dealers and lub shops. So many change their own.
You don't need to go with the Boutique brands like Redline or Amsoil. Mobil one will do just fine. Get a good oil filter like the Purolator Pure One.
The big advantage of the sythetic oils is that they do not break down and coke up. This coking of the oil can lead to stuck piston rings and oil control rings. For turbo charged cars, the heat from the turbo's turbine shaft will not break down the oil in the turbo bearing. This is not as critical now that turbo bearings are water cooled. Turbos also cause the oil draining from them to be foamy. This contributes to oxidization.
Yes it cost a bit more, but you have an expensive vehicle. If you are just going to trade it in in a few years and don't care about the engine's future, then just about anything will survive the warrantee period.
