i will check the pivot, there is definitely a little play there before tension is felt when pushing on the pedal. thanks for all the advice btw.

I was reading through symptoms on the saab site and it mentions that a clutch that engages very close to the floor could be related to Master cylinder failure?
how do i tell if the master needs replaced? i see its not expensive so i may do it anyway...
