I'd examine your (swap in a known good one if you have it); my 900 actually had corrosion inside the coil where the lead plugged in. If original equipment yours may be getting pretty long in the tooth (old). On another car (1978 Fiat Spider) I had months of misfire issues that eventually were traced back to a defective coil that was simply giving it up because of age.
Another thing I've had happen is that the insulation on the three wires that plug into the hall sensor may crack allowing them to interfere with one another, or grounding out. Make sure the wires leading to the hall plug are in good shape at the plug. I ended up cutting the wires, slipping a heat shrink wrapping over the wire and then re-soldering the connection.
