The intercooler comes with 2 rubber hoses to go from the turbo to the intercooler and then to the throttle body.

Is rubber a bad medium to transport air?
Should I invest in getting some new aluminum pipes made up?

The stock rubber pipes are 1-3/4" inner diameter...Seems kinda small.
Also, the intercooler connectors are only 1-3/4" diameter. This is smaller than the stock intercooler. Why would abbott do this?

Now for the details on the install:
It took me approx. 5 hours to do the job. First of all the directions are TERRIBLE. For example, the directions state to install the longest hose on the left hand side of the radiator, and the shorter one to the right hand side of the radiator. Well, there are 4 hoses total, and all of them are shorter than the longest one...
So I had to guess which hoses went where!

There are no good directions on mounting the radiator. Just install radiator onto the bumper mounts is what they say. As it turns out, I needed to drill the holes bigger for the radiator to go onto the mounts.
There is only 1 way it fits onto the mounts.

The only thing left was to install the resevoir. The directions show a very dark picture with the resevoir installed in the car. The only problem is that the pictures shows a completely DIFFERENT style resevoir.
So, I mounted where I think it works best. Next was attaching the intercooler pipes. You wouldn't think this was hard. The directions don't tell you this, but you have to remove the old intercooler bracket. 2 10 mm bolts. Once I did this, then the intercooler would somewhat sit
in the right place. It's supposed to sit on top of the lower radiator hose, but mine is not. It's not even sitting! The intercooler hoses hold it up.

Finally, the last thing in this kit that I don't think is up to the abbott quality is the transition pipe from the 1-3/4" intercooler hose to the 2-1/2" throttle body. It looks like they welded 2-3 different size pipes together to make the transition. The welds are not smooth on the inside.
There are at least 2 different lips that need to be dremeled out. I believe I can make a completely new unit that is better than that.

All in all, it does look like a sweet setup. If the directions were better, this would have been an easy install.
I'm going back to the dyno this week. Now I'll see what it'll do!
