Vince,
I forgot to tell you--just in case it comes up on exam--this was a bilateral contract with promises to deliver and to pay being exchanged,
The consideration, of course, was the $470.00 money order sent. The bi-lateral contract was formed with written communications (presumably with the same legal relevance as a letter) exchanged on the internet. The contract was made when he offered the part at a price and quantity certain, specified the means of payment, promised to set the item aside, and proposed and accepted terms of delivery--and this offer was accepted by me. Payment was sent and received before he sold the part to another, but the contract was binding even before payment was sent, as this was a classic bilateral contract, not a unilateral one--the offer had been accepted.
