Did you say new rear springs?

I haven't heard of that mod yet.

I did the Viggen rescue kit and upgraded rear roll bar on my 2000 2 dr Viggen. It helped, but didn't "virtually eliminate" the problem as it is spec'd to do. It seemed to tighten the steering a bit, which was needed, and it raised the torque point at which the wheels go mental a bit.

I'm giving serious thought to a set of Pilot Sports in the spring, which you guys seem to think handle the torque better because of their more compliant rubber (I believe) but I haven't heard anything about rear suspension tuning beyond the heavier roll bar.

can you fill me in?

Also, having recently driven a BMW 328 with a five speed, grumblings about the Viggen transmission were legitimised.. the viggen transmission makes quick "one flick of the wrist" shifting between gears very difecult - it fights to make you pause in neutral (to wait for syncrhos I guess??) just for a second before allowing the shifter from neutral into the next gear..but its just enough to make shifting a bit slow, and labourious. The beemer also has a much lighter clutch, which is a dream compared to the Viggen's in traffic. Anyone come across these frustrations, and found any way to lessen them? I mentioned it to the dealer, who seemed to make it slightly better with some adjust ment (they didn't describe it on the work order) - but it's still not close to "smooth", and they told me that the clutch was mechanical not hydraulic and therefore heavy..and could not be adjusted, but that this was much better than the beamer's hydraulic clutch since it gave better "feel". I call bullshit on that :)

Still love the damn car BTW, it just has some real pain in the ass weakneses :>

Earl
