Earl,

I spoke with Swedish Dynamics (http://www.saabperformanceparts.com) and they said they have had success with putting new rear springs on Viggens as it helps prevent the squat on acceleration thereby keeping the front wheels loaded for better traction. BTW Swedish Dynamics was VERY helpful, I spoke with them for 20 minutes about various modifications - they are Saab car guys!

I'm curious on your rescue kit - you say it doesn't "virtually eliminate" the torque steer. I don't expect it would but do you have a rough guess on reduction - 50%, 75% More/Less? Would you do it again? Also, my limited experience with Polyurethane bushings is they sometimes squeak in the cold weather - do you experience that at all? Did it lower the car at all? (I already have to avoid two businesses in town because I can't make it in their parking lot without scrapping)

I too am going to switch tires in the spring to either Pilots or MXXX3(?). My problem is I can't decide what to do first, rescue kit, tires, or try the springs.

I drove a 328ci and I know what you mean about the shifter. The Viggen's is a bit rubbery. I don't find the clutch that heavy and to be honest I thought it was hydraulic - anyone know for sure?

I'm willing to put $1k-$1.5k in to reduce the torque steer (yeah, I know it isn't really torque steer). I think we are stuck with the shifter - perhaps different tranny fluid would help. At the end of the day I still get a rush from the turbo and after going to the VFA I can manage the handling but I would still like to improve it.

Damn this is longer than I intended - sorry.

Stan
'99 Viggen - it just doesn't look the same with snows on.... :-(
